School Experience

All school placements currently take place within primary schools in Dumfries and Galloway.

Year 1

School placement in middle primary: P3, 4 or 5

• Semester 1: 4 x 1 day placements
• Semester 2: 1 x 3 day placement
• May to June: 4 week placement

Year 2

School placement in Early Years and Lower Primary: P1 and 2

• August to September: 4 week placement
• May to June: 4 week placement

Year 3

School placement in Upper School: P6 and 7

• August to September: 4 week placement
• May to June: 4 week placement

Note that there are proposals to allow an International School Experience at Level 3 provided the student is eligible - this is subject to Senate and GTCS approval.

Year 4

Student input into the primary level of the placement

• Semester 2: 10 week placement
