Alternative qualifications and notes
- First year entry HNC in Arts, Humanities or Business subject area with an A in the Graded Unit (or 50% merits overall or AB in Integrative Assessments).
- First year entry HND in Arts, Humanities or Business subject area with an AAB in the Graded Unit (or 50% merits overall or AABB in Integrative Assessments).
- The following HNC/D qualifications are recognised for first year entry to arts and social sciences programmes: Administration and Information Technology, Advertising and Public Relations, Business, Communications with Media, Financial Services, International Trade and Business, Legal Services, Management, Marketing, Media Analysis and Production, Practical Journalism, and Social Sciences.
- HNC/D in Performing Arts is not accepted
- Irish Highers AAAB
- Approved Access Courses
- International Baccalaureate 34 points
- European Baccalaureate 85% overall
- Open University Credits pass in Foundation level

Music
MA Music programme requires Higher Music at B or Merit in Grade 7 Associated Board practical and theory exams. There is no audition for MA entry.

Applicants without evidence of Music may be considered on an individual basis following interview.

Admission to the BMus is subject to an audition and interview in addition to meeting qualification requirements. Applicants are encouraged to give a full and specific account of their musical interests in their UCAS personal statements and be prepared to discuss these at the interview.
In order to be called for audition, applicants must be proficient on a solo instrument or voice with at least a Merit at ABRSM Grade 8; alternatively, applicants should provide evidence of comparable performing ability and proficiency in reading staff notation. Applicants are encouraged to provide a URL pointing to video evidence of their performance ability; please note that this is not compulsory, though it may help support an application particularly for applicants without a Grade 8 qualification. Applicants to Joint Honours programmes involving Computing Science, Maths or Physics must meet the Mathematics requirement (see Entry requirements: Science).
