Garscube Sports Complex
The health and fitness programme caters for all levels and includes free gym inductions, online exercise advice, 1-2-1 personal training and over 50 exercise classes per week. Facilities are packed with the latest CV equipment, resistance machines and free weights. Our recreational programme focuses on fun and trying something new in a relaxed environment. A number of specialist courses, drop-in sport sessions and recreational football, hockey and squash leagues are on offer each Semester. For those who like club sport - there are 47 to choose from. The majority of clubs train weekly. Competitive clubs participate in University and local/national competitions on a weekly basis. Recreational clubs organise both home and abroad trips throughout the year. Talented athletes may receive a number of sports bursaries, access to other specialist services to aid their development and help balance academic life with training and competition schedules. N.B. International Orientation Programme run by International Student Support will run from 9th to 13th September for ERASMUS and Study Abroad/Exchange students and from 10th to 13th September for all International (including EU) students who will be undertaking a full degree.
