Terms and Conditions
These scholarships are available to applicants who will be registered as new undergraduate students or postgraduate taught students at the University of Glasgow. Applicants who will be registered as Postgraduate Research students are not eligible.
All sections of the application must be completed as instructed on the online application per instructions.
Applicants must have an offer of a place for the next admission intake in order to be considered and will be expected to meet all the conditions of their academic offer in time to register at the University of Glasgow.
A deposit* of £2000 is required to confirm acceptance of a scholarship (*Applicants for Talent Awards are excluded). The Scholarship Team reserves the right to withdraw the offer of a scholarship if it is not accepted within the given deadline and to re-allocate it to reserve candidates. Scholarships may not be deferred to the following academic year. Applicants must therefore register on their academic course by the given start date, as specified in their award communication.
Scholarships are awarded for a specific programme of study as stated in the award communication. Applicants should seek permission and obtain consent from the Scholarship Team before making any changes to their programme of study (this includes changing course title, course transfers, suspending studies, etc.).Please note that approval is not guaranteed and where changes are made without prior approval, the scholarship may be withdrawn and students may be required to repay the scholarship in full.* (*Applicants for Talent Awards are excluded).
Scholarships are awarded for a set period of study as stated in the award communication. Scholarships cannot be extended.
Scholars must be registered as full-time students. Scholars who withdraw from their programme* before completion will be required to repay the scholarship in full. (*Applicants for Talent Awards are excluded).
Award of scholarship is conditional upon the status for fee-paying purposes being correctly determined by the Admissions team. Scholars whose status is pending or has changed must notify the scholarship team immediately.
Scholarships cannot be awarded in conjunction with other scholarships bursaries and discounts* offered by the University of Glasgow. (*Applicants for Talent Awards are excluded).
Scholarships are not available as a cash alternative (Talent Awards are excluded).
Scholarships are supplementary to a scholar’s main source of income.
Scholars may be requested to participate in current and future promotional activities and as such may be interviewed and photographed by our marketing team. Scholars may also be asked to contribute occasionally to the promotion of the University of Glasgow during events organised by the Recruitment and International Office. Scholars agree no payment will be made by the University to the scholars for their participation in promotional activities.
Talent Applicants Only: If scholars are awarded a ‘named’ Talent Award (i.e. the funding for which has been provided to the University by a donor), in accepting the award, scholars agree to write to the donor(s) to provide a progress report on their studies on an annual basis when requested to do so.
Talent Applicants Only: To support the University’s work to increase the Scholarship Fund further, scholars agree they will provide feedback about how the Talent Scholarship has been of assistance to them when requested.
The decision of the scholarship selection committee is final.
