Postgraduate taught degrees
The subject of Theatre, Film and Television offers a number of innovative and professional MLitt and MSc programmes. These Masters are usually one year full-time or two years part-time and begin in September. There is also the option of a taught MRes in Theatre or Film and Television Studies which combines taught courses with a larger independent research component.
All the Masters programmes benefit from close links to industry, such as BBC Scotland, the Edinburgh International Festival and the National Theatre of Scotland. The 2008 Research Assessment Exercise found 85% of our research classified as world-leading or internationally excellent. We are home to the Centre for Cultural Policy Research and the film and television journal Screen, not to mention excellent facilities such as our theatre and cinema. New programmes in International Cinemas and Theatre Practice show the innovation and global vision of our Masters, while excellent results in the national student survey demonstrate our commitment to an engaging learning environment.
