Researcher development policy and strategy
The Researcher Development Programme at Glasgow is coordinated by the VP Office (Research and Enterprise), primarily using 'Roberts' funding from RCUK. We work in partnership with Graduate Schools, who receive funding to develop tailored initiatives to meet local needs and also with University services such as the Careers Service and Staff Development Service.
All of our courses and events aim to cover specific areas of the Researcher Development Framework and to support researchers in both their current role and in the future. It is recommended that researchers should take part in two weeks of transferable skills training a year, which covers skills that are non-subject specific such as training in knowledge transfer or public engagement. We run externally accredited leadership and project management courses and coordinate a host of other opportunities for you to broaden your skills and experience.
