Jena Hunter - Film and Television Studies/Scottish Literature

Hi there! My name is Jena, and I've just finished my third (Junior Honours) year at Glasgow University studying Film and Television Studies and Scottish Literature (Joint Honours). I've been an e-mentor with the Student Network since my first year.  I have lots of experience with helping new, prospective and current students - through helping out on live webchats, Taster Weeks and stalls at the Open Days and Freshers Fair.  I've also been lucky enough to meet some of the students I've mentored through these Open Days. I have been a member of a few of the clubs and societies in Glasgow University, some of which are; Cut! Filmmaking, Screens, STaG (Student Theatre at Glasgow) and, most notably GUST - Glasgow University Student Television. If you are interested in becoming a member of, or want more information about any of the clubs I've mentioned, please feel free to get in touch and ask me any questions.  Likewise, if you have any questions about your course, living and/or studying in Glasgow - please feel free to contact me as I am more than happy to answer! Hope to hear from you soon! Jena

Catriona Mather - English Literature/Film and Television Studies

Hi there! My name is Catriona but my friends call me Cat. I am currently a 2nd year student doing English Literature/Film and Television Studies, hoping to do joint honours with them both. I'm also doing first year English Language. I did Comparative Literature during my first year as my third subject. I'm from Montrose on the east coast of Scotland but I was born and raised in Bahrain in the Middle East so I never lived in the UK before coming to Glasgow for university. I am a member of Cut film-making society as well as the Muay Thai club and during my first year I stayed in a 12 person flat in Murano Street Student Village.

Sibyl Adam - English Literature

Hi! I'm Sibyl and I'm a 3rd year English Literature student! As well as this, in my first and second years I did english language, comparative literature and theatre studies. I'm from Manchester, England. In my first year, I stayed in student apartments. I've been involved in many societies and clubs during my three years so far at Glasgow, including the famous International Society where I helped run events and trips, and the theatre group 'Staged' where I directed a play! There is always interesting and fun things happening in Glasgow - whether the University or City - and always something new to try. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time so far at Glasgow and hope I can help you to aswell!

Caitlin MacColl - Theatre Studies/English Literature

Hi I'm Caitlin, a student from the college of arts, just finishing my second year doing Theatre Studies, English Literature and English language and hoping to go on to a joint Theatre/ Literature MA. I'm a Scottish student and came straight from high school and spent my first year in Wolfson halls. I know most the different accomodations the uni has to offer though, and from this year have exerience of finding private flats etc. I'm interested in theatre and creative writing and have been able to take advantage of the different societies or extra-curricular opportunities the uni has to offer and happy to recommend any of them! I love Glasgow as a city and I know the area pretty well so will be glad to point people in the right direction and give any advice about the university or city as a whole.

Carys Hughes - Central & East European Studies/History

Hi! I'm Carys and I'm in 2nd Year studying Central and East European Studies with History (I have also done 1st year English Literature and Economic and Social history.). I'm from North East Scotland, and currently live in Maryhill. I am an active member of my subject societies, and am also a member of the GUCUA. I've also been a Class Rep, and are really into Student politics - and there is no shortage of opinion on campus! I love Glasgow - the music, loads of shopping and more cultured things to do too! My hobbies include socialising, volunteering, travelling, photography, politics, going to concerts, wandering around the Botanics feeding squirrels, and other mundane activities. I love chatting and generally having lots of good times, and are approchable and friendly, so don't hesitate to get in touch about anything!

Ruby Chan - Philosophy

My name is Ruby, and I am currently a 3rd-year student studying mainly Philosophy (with one course in History of Art). During my 2nd year, I have also studied Ancient Greek and Forensic Medicine as my outside options (which I loved!). I was Vice President of the Philosophy Society last year (10/11) and I am a soprano in the Choral Society.  Apart from reading and writing essays (I quite enjoy this, believe it or not.), my other interests include fashion, playing the piano, going to musicals and galleries, being involved in the WWF, etc. Feel free to contact me if you have any queries.

Conny Rhode -  Philosophy and Politics

Hi, I'm Conny! Just now I'm doing my third year (undergrad) in Philosophy and Politics. On the way to the MA (Hons) degree in Philosophy - and possibly Politics too - I've so far had one or two looks into Sociology, Psychology, Business & Management and Educational Studies (among other subjects). Apart from analysing anything related to Ethics in my courses, I really enjoy relaxing in good coffee houses as well as running and travelling whenever I can. But nonetheless, studying is my favourite pastime! The reason why I've come from my native Germany (after spending one year at another university) to study here is, frankly, that I LOVE the Highlands and many other things about Scotland! In first year I lived in Cairncross House, but after that I've gladly abandoned the 'services' of the University's Accommodation Office and went private, to Firhill Court. So if you would like to get any tips about studying and living here, just feel free to contact me!

Joanna Tucker - English Language, History

Hi! My name is Joanna and I am a fourth year student at Glasgow Uni studying the wonders of History. During my first two years I also studied Scottish Literature, English Language and Music. I am originally from Stirling in Scotland, but I now call Glasgow my home as I live in a flat in the West End. In first year I roughed it slightly, staying in Murano Street Student Village halls! During my time at Glasgow Uni, I have dabbled in a few clubs and societies, but my main hobby is singing which has led me to the GU Madrigirls (an all girls choir which rehearses once a week). I am also involved in helping international students with their conversational English, at the Uni and at the Glasgow International College. Bye for now.

Hazel Cargill - English Literature and Music

Hi, my name is Hazel Cargill, and I'm from Aberdeenshire, Scotland. I have just finished second year studying English Literature and Music as part of an undergraduate M.A degree.  In first year I stayed in Maclay Residences in Yorkhill. I have met so many people this year and learned a lot. I am the Secretary of the University of Glasgow Music Club committee, and am part of a few of the music groups. In my spare time I enjoy playing piano and painting.  If you have any questions about any aspect of studying and living in Glasgow, don't hesitate to get in touch!

joanneJoanne Ramsay - French, English Lit, English Language

Hi, I'm Joanne and I'm in my third year now, doing a Joint Honours in English Literature and English Language.  I came up touni after fifth year and moved up to Halls at that age too, so I know how scary it can be to be on your own for the first time.  But it's also really awesome and there are loads of opportunities to meet people when you're there.  Glasgow was a big change from the small town of Ardrossan where I'm from, but everyone's so welcoming at Glasgow Uni that you fit in pretty quickly.  Any questions you have, just let me know.  And don't worry, the questions that seem stupid are the ones that everyone wants to know the answer to!

Paul Hope - French and Politics

I am an 18 year old Scottish student living in Glasgow and studying French and Politics. I have just completed a very enjoyable first year at the uni and am happy to answer any questions you may have with regards to student life here.

Melissa Cunningham - French and Spanish

Bonjour! Hey! I'm Melissa and I'm a second year Arts student studying French and Spanish and maybe another language, we'll see how it goes! This will actually be my third year at uni as I started a degree in Law but decided it wasn't for me, so I can definitely say I've been through the mill trying to change my course and get back on track again.  I work at the weekends in a wee office in a lovely retail shop that sells mothball granny cardigans and shortbread, but I shall not complain since it funds my party antics (?!?!) and fascination, sorry obsession, with clothes and hats.I live in Coatbridge (home of the Time Capsule!) so I frequently commute to uni and know Glasgow pretty well.Feel free to get in touch with me about everything and anything!  Au revoir for now.

Marissa Bernier - Psychology, English Language and Fundamentals of Education

Hi, i'm Marissa, i'm 25, which would make me a mature student (although it is debatable..)  I came to GU through the Access programme for mature students so I know what it is like to come to uni through alternative means!  I've lived in Glasgow for the last 5 years but I am originally from a small (and dull) town called Dunoon.  I've just finished first year studying psychology, english language and fundamentals of education and aim to eventually do honours psychology.  Feel free to get in touch with any concerns!

 Alex McKeever - Neuroscience

Hi! I'm a second year life sciences student, currently preparing for the exam load we're all dreading. (Although tomorrow is the last day of the semester proper, yay!) I'm looking to go on to Neuroscience next year. I was born and raised in Glasgow so I'm very familiar with the city. I did well in school but left to pursue full time work in 2006 when I was 16. I worked full time in various positions in offices and customer services (as an advisor and as a manager) before deciding to return to education. I did a year long course in Health and Biomedical Sciences at Cardonald College before deciding to come to Glasgow Uni and I've never looked back. I've lived in a few private-rent flats close to the uni (and once; not so close) and I find I'm quite good at hunting for a rent-bargain! I sometimes like to head to the QM for the odd event or two, and I've popped into an LGBT event once or twice. Looking forward to hearing from some new/ prospective students!

Amy Campbell - Anatomy

Hi! My name is Amy, I am from Glasgow and I'm a third year Anatomy honours student. My first year courses included Biology, Chemistry and Psychology and in second year I took twelve biology modules including Neuroscience, Drugs and Disease and Physical Principles of Biological Processes. I am a fundraising coordinator for the Glasgow University Marrow Society which supports the work of the Anthony Nolan Trust and a member of the Glasgow University Anatomy Society. Please feel free to get in touch if there is anything I can help you with!

Hanna Buist - Anatomy

Hi, I'm Hanna and am a second year student currently working towards an Honors degree in Anatomy. Besides all the general life science courses, I've done two years of Chemistry and in first year, Archaeology was my third subject. I'm Finnish-Canadian and while I was born in Canada, for the past 12 years I've been living between Costa Rica and Finland until moving to Scotland for uni. I guess you could say I'm an international student but I feel very at home here in Glasgow. I've always rented privately and just now I'm living in the East End but fortunately have found a flat much closer to uni. Consequently, I can definitely help in regards to both public transport and flat hunting both of which can seem a bit daunting at first. Besides doing some temp work, I've also done some volunteering and hope to do the same this summer. I am very much a movie buff (thank goodness for cineworld unlimited card (and lovefilm)!) and also enjoy the usual hanging out with my friends, cooking/baking, as well as going to the university gym whenever there's time to spare. Ultimately, I think I like studying a bit too much because that's all I seem to do a lot of the time. I look forward to being of service!

Hannah Ralph - Genetics

Hi, My name is Hannah and I am currently in my third year studying MSci Genetics. In my first year I studied Biology, Chemistry and English Literature and in second year I took 10 modules that cover a wide range of biology. I live in Queen Margaret Halls and am currently employed there as a Senior Resident so I can share a lot about university accommodation! Next year I will be going on work placement and would be happy to talk about this with anyone who is interested in the placement opportunities at the University of Glasgow.

Laura Downie - Molecular & Cellular Biology

Hey, I'm Laura and I'm a second year Life Sciences student hoping to go into MSci. Genetics or Molecular&Cellular Biology. I've been a student representative for Life Sciences for a while now so I know plenty about the school and can answer most questions you might have!
I commute to university from home everyday, and I've also had a part time job since I was 14, so I'm happy to answer questions about finding part time work while studying. Since starting at Glasgow I've joined various clubs & societies including the GU Pole Dancing Club, the GU Athletics Club, and the Genetics/MCB Society. Outwith university I also learn Trapeze arts, so if you're interested in joining up with any clubs/societies when you get here, I'm sure I can point you in the right direction!

 Rachael Leach - Physiology

Hi, I'm Rachael, a third year Physiology honours student from Sussex England. I originally matriculated at the University of Glasgow in 2007, but withdrew to work full time as a healthcare assistant after I decided that the timing just wasn't right for me. I re-matriculated in 2009, studying biology, chemistry and mathematics, leading onto a fifty fifty split between chemistry and biology in my second year. Music was one of the main draws to Glasgow for me, and as such I am actively involved with the GU Music Club, as well as being involved with music groups outside of the university. I also enjoy going to the cinema, theatre, opera, and socialising with friends. Whilst at university I have also trained in first aid and sign language, and enjoy volunteering at sport and charity events. I currently hold two part time jobs, and live in my own flat with two fantastic flatmates, although during my first year I stayed in halls of residence. I am extremely proud to be a student, and as such have stood as a class student representative for all three years of my degree. I have had an amazing time at the University of Glasgow, and I look forward to hearing from you all!

Sophie Nairn - Genetics

Hi, I'm Sophie, and I'm in my 2nd year working towards a BSci Hons in Genetics. I also studied Psychology in 1st year and Chemistry in 1st and 2nd year. I still live at home with my parents, and travel to and from campus via bus every day. I am currently looking into moving out for 3rd year, so hopefully I will be able to provide insight into what attending university whilst still living at home is like, as well as how to go about hunting for a flat. I've had various jobs during my time at university, so should also be able to give some advice on how to find some part-time work. In my spare time I love to look through the high street and more unique shops found in Glasgow, go to the cinemas and have meals and drinks out with my friends, as well as baking lots of cake! If anyone has any questions about student life in Glasgow, I'm more than happy to help!

Laura Osborne - Medicine

I'm Laura and currently I'm in 2nd year studying medicine. I live in the west end of Glasgow but my degree often involves traveling so I have a good knowledge of the city. I didn't live in halls in first year (but have many friends who did) so have experience in trying to find accommodation in the city and more specific knowledge about flat-hunting. As a medical student, I'm part of many societies relating to the degree but also some others. I have a fairly good knowledge of the campus facilities i.e. unions, the gym as well as similar facilities off campus. I also enjoy getting out of the city so can recommend places to visit and how best to get there.

 Mhairi Meek - Medicine

Hiya I'm Mhairi and I'm currently in 3rd year studying medicine at Glasgow. I stay at home and commute every day. I'm a member of various societies including the Glasgow GP society and I think societies are a great and fun way to meet new people! My favourite things to do are meeting up with friends and socialising including going to the cinema and nights out. If anyone has any questions about Glasgow or uni life I'd be delighted to answer!

Yeo (Xin) Hui - Dentistry

Hi! I am XinHui from Malaysia; you can also call me Yeo. I am a second year dental student in Glasgow and am currently enjoying my time at university. I am renting a flat with my friend this year but do have experience living in hall in my first year. Glasgow is a really nice place to live in, very soon you would adapt to the life here and make Glasgow your 'second home' away from home. People here are very friendly and welcoming, and you would never have to worry about getting lost in the city. I love going to the university gym and heard that its membership fee is among the most affordable in the UK! I also enjoy travelling and meeting people from all walks of life as long as people enjoy meeting me too! There are plenty of voluntary opportunities in Glasgow and lots of clubs and societies; you would be spoilt for choices! I would be living in Glasgow for another 3 long years as the duration of my course is 5 years. I am more than happy to answer any questions you have about living and studying in Glasgow, so please do feel free to shout out any of your doubts!

I am 25 years young and originally from Russia, but I have moved a lot in my life (grew up in USA, Germany, Sweden). I am confident that I can offer a good insight into what it's like to live and study in Glasgow, living in student halls and what it's like to be an EU/international student. I'll gladly answer any questions that you can think of regarding the student experience. Look forward to hearing from you!

Niall Adams - Civil Engineering with Architecture

Hey, my name is Niall and I am from Northern Ireland. I'm in second year studying Civil Engineering with Architecture but that is only a part of my life in Glasgow. I spent my first year in Queen Margaret Halls but also have good friends in the other halls of residence and have had great experiences in all of them. I currently live in a 3 person flat near the uni and can offer advice on where to look and more importantly where not to look for somewhere to live. I have a wide range of interests including sports and music and for someone like me Glasgow is definitely the place to be, and with regards to nightlife Glasgow cant be beaten in my opinion. My favorite part of the uni is the amazing GUU, whether it be their Monday night pub quiz or unmissable Thursday night hive, it's the place to be. I have had a number of friends join the uni this year and feel that i have helped them with any problems so if you have any questions i'd be more than glad to help.

Tommy Shinton - Civil Engineering

Hello My name's Tommy I'm in second year studying Civil Engineering. I am originally from Edinburgh but much prefer Glasgow as a city, especially to be a student in! I try to play a part or take an interest in as many aspects of uni life as possible, I play rugby and sometimes 5-a-side football in the gym/garscube. I lived in Murano Halls in first year and loved it, I now live just off campus in a three person flat. I have a big interest in student politics, I am one of those sad people that actually read all the manifestos at election time - as well as gorging on sweets. I was a freshers helper this year for the QMU which was great, not least for helping freshers with some of the many questions most of them have. I now also have a good understanding of how both unions and the student bodies are run and operate. I also love the Glasgow nightlife and the bars and cafes of the West End are something that make uni life so good.

Marta Drabek - Aeronautical Engineering

Hey, I'm Marta, just finished my second year of Aeronautical Engineering I'm 22, I used up a couple of years between high school and uni to do what I wanted at a time, that is discovering the world, cutting out shapes, collecting sparkling objects and making everything smell of cinnamon. I still do all that, but spaceships and pictures of human brain are way more absorbing. Hope to spread the good news about wonders of Glaswegian existence to as many people as possible!

Mikaela Samuelsson - Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science

Hello! My name is Mikaela, coming from Gothenburg, Sweden.  I have just completed my second year of Uni where I studied Chemistry and Infection Biology.  I have enjoyed these years so far so much.  I have learned a lot, both in the academic and social aspect and about myself as a person.  I am looking forward to the next coming years at Glasgow Uni.  I am a happy person who likes to laugh with friends, my interests are many, but a few of them are mountainbiking, reading books and spending time with friends. I hope to get to know you :D"

Marie Turnbull - Earth Science

Hi everyone, I'm a mature student (or so they tell me ... I'm 28), originally from Lincoln, (England), and am about to enter my third year of an Earth Science degree at Glasgow. I've lived in the area for a few years before enrolling at Glasgow and know the area fairly well whether it be for work, study or play!! I'm also an Ambassador for the Uni so you may see me about in a (gorgeous) purple T-shirt giving you a tour. My first two years here flew by so I intend to make good on my promises to join the Gym, learn a language and maybe learn to scuba or climb with the clubs here at Uni. This is actually my second undergrad degree, having done a Conservation Biology degree some years ago and so I've had a lot of experience of uncertainty and indecision when it comes to Uni. Any questions, problems or worries please drop me an email, because I'm sure at some time in my past it would have been an issue or a curiosity for me too!

MeganMegan Yates - Maths, Statistics and Computer Science

I'm Megan Yates, I'm 21 and am about to start my Junior Honours year studying Statistics.
I originally enrolled in a Mathematical Sciences degree programme, but decided to change to a Single Honours.

Any questions you have, just let me know!

I lived in Wolfson Hall in my first year and I am currently living in a flat in the west end with 3 others. I also have lots of friends that lived (and some that are currently staying) in Student apartments/houses, in Murano and Cairncross so I know quite a bit about them from both visiting and them. I am an active member of the Romanian society and I often go to International society meetings. Squash has become a big passion of mine since coming to Glasgow University - I play 3-4 times per week. Therefore, I am familiar with the Stevenson Gym and having lived in Wolfson Hall I've also been to the Garscube one. I also volunteer to help teachers who work with Roma children in primary schools. I'm quite experienced when it comes to helping prospective UK university students, having assisted high school students from Romania and being an e-mentor for the Romanian League of Students Abroad.

Heather Adams - Law

I'm currently in 3rd year studying Law (but have also studied Level 1 Politics and Business Management). I have a part-time job, regularly go to the gym and am a member of the Glasgow University Ski and Snowboard Club. I like to go out socialising with friends when I can, and I would like to think I have a good knowledge of Glasgow's nightlife. I live in the west end but am originally from the Loch Lomond area. As I have lived so close to Glasgow all my life, I know the city and the surrounding areas pretty well, so hopefully I'll be able to help with anyone with questions on this.

Lauren Donnelly - Politics and History

Hi, I'm Lauren, I'm a third year Politics and History Honours student who lives at home just outside Glasgow in Motherwell. As a Frequent commuter i have over the past three years built up an extensive knowledge of travel information and have numerous types and techniques for cheap travel. I'm a volunteer in my local museum working in Local Archives as i adore Scottish History.
However my expert knowledge lies in Glasgow's Night Life. I loveee a night out!! Uni shouldn't centre entirely on the academic side.
The unions are a great way to met new friends through their many events throughout the year.
Look forward to hearing from you regarding academic or otherwise matters ! x

Leona Duff - Law

I'm Leona and I'm currently in third year doing Law (LLB). I come from just outside Glasgow originally, but have been in halls since first coming to Glasgow University and have absolutely loved living in the West End! There's a great atmosphere around the place and we're really lucky here to have such a well-established University in such a fun area! As well as being interested in human rights and criminal law, outside Uni I'm extremely busy and rarely stop and sit for more than a couple of hours! I play hockey and am really into running, music and reading, as well as generally socialising with my friends. Obviously I've been here for quite a long time, so if you have any questions about the city, the University, or the University clubs, email me and I'll be sure to get back to you promptly!

Tatjana Tarasevica - Economics and Business Management

Hello! My name is Tatjana and I'm a second-year Business&Management, Economics and German student (all Level 2 subjects). I'm from Riga, Latvia. I enjoy both academic and social parts of Glasgow life! In my first year I used to be a very active member of GU International Society, but this year I and my friends established GU Russian Speaking society where I'm a president. I love organising events, meeting new people and socialising. Last year I lived in Murano Street Student Village in a small flat for 5 people. A lot of my friends used to live in QM Halls, Cairncross, and Student Apartments, so I can easily help with hall-related questions. This year I'm renting a flat with another Latvian girl.
I'm very sporty and I enjoy going to the gym. Also I have been playing tennis for more than 11 years.
I'm not really a crazy clubber, but of course I enjoy going out to the city centre from time to time.

Slaveya Angelska - Business Economics

Hello, my name is Slaveya and I am currently in my thrid year doing MA Business Economics. The subjects I’ve taken till now are Economics, Business and Management, French, Management Accounting and Finance. I love to keep myself occupied with different extracurricular activities, so if you’d like to join a club or a society – I have loads of tips for you.  On top of that, I attend the gym quite often /or at least I try to/, so if you are into sports, we will have loads of things to discuss. Looking forward to receiving your questions about life at Glasgow Uni.

Anca Muntean - Business Management and Economics

My name is Anca and I am studying Business and Management and Economics. I am 20 years old and I am from Romania, so familiar with the International Office and being on your own for the first time.  During my first year I was living in Murano Student Village, where I gathered some 'living in uni accommodation' knowledge and insight which I would love to share.  I do enjoy reading and dancing, and I still am fascinated by Glasgow, which I am continuously discovering, bit by bit.

zivile

Zivile Zutautaite - Business & Management/ Politics/Economics

Hi, my name is Zivile. I am originally from Lithuania, but now studying here in Scotland, and have to admitt, enjoying it very much! At the moment, I am a third year student, doing Business & Management, and bearing a wish to go into joint honours with Business studies combined with Politics. Not extremely related subjects, but both are rewarding for me and, not to mention, great fun to learn! During my first year, I lived among those famous Murano walls, so if you are interested, I can help you to learn more about this fab student accommodation. But if you are more concerned with learning and lectures (which I'm sure you are..:P) I can help you with that too. For short, I can say that lectures are informative and give you an invaluable insight in the subject of your choice and are worth attending. I am a working student (meaning: have a part time job), so I am sure I can answer your questions about employment too.  I am probably repeating my self now, but as I said, student life is an experience of a life time for me and I'd be glad to share my wisdom with you, so, don't hesitate and contact me!

natalieNatalie Hemmings - Economics, Business Management

Hi, my name is Natalie and I’m twenty years old. I’m originally from Scotland, but haven’t lived in the UK for most of my life and am an international student. I’m currently finishing my second year of a joint degree in Economics and Business Management. In the past two years I’ve also taken English Language, Mathematics, French, and Economic and Social History courses. katharinaioanaIoana Lutas - Economics and Psychology

My name is Ioana Lutas, I’m 21 and I am now in third year doing a joint Honours degree in Economics and Psychology. Over the past two years, I also did Business Management and Statistics. I am from a region of Romania called Transylvania and I’ve been in Glasgow for more than two years now and enjoyed every second of it!  In first year I stayed at Cairncross House and in second year I stayed in one of the Uni flats, so I’m pretty familiar with university accommodation. If you have any questions about any aspect of student life, please feel free to contact me!

rebeccaBecca Duffell - Education with Primary Teaching (Dumfries)

Hi, I'm Becca, I'm 20 and about to start my fourth and final year of the MA Education and Primary Teaching degree at Crichton Campus in Dumfries. The Crichton Campus has a much more friendly and informal feel than the main campus in Glasgow and, although I understand that it isn’t for everyone, I really enjoy studying here. As the campus is so small, I am the only Student Network representative for the whole campus so I’m happy to answer emails and questions about life in Dumfries in general and courses other than my own.

Outside of studying, I am a member of CUCSA (Crichton University Campus Students' Association) and have tried my hand at the roles of Social Convenor and Vice President in the past two years. I am also a Student Ambassador for the Crichton Campus so if you have already visited us for an open day or interview, I've probably given you a tour of the University and Halls!  In my spare time I enjoy going out with friends - there are loads of great pubs and restaurants in Dumfries.  If you have any questions about the Crichton Campus or the MA Education degree, feel free to contact me and I'll try and help as best as I can.

John Morgan - Law

I'm John, a second year LLB Law student from Central Scotland. I have taken part in Summer School and Top-Up programmes, both as a pupil and a student mentor and so should be able to offer advice on both.  I still live at home and so I am also able to give advice on travelling into the University and how to get the most value on public transport.  I am mainly interested in Politics and the Student Unions, and so can offer advice on these - as well as being a prospective student helper at Freshers Week. I would be more than happy to offer any advice I can give. Look forward to hearing from you!

Cecily Purcell - Law

Hello! My name is Cecily and I am going into my third year of Law at Glasgow! I have covered all of the main subjects in Law itself and also have taken courses in Philosophy and Forensic Medicine.  I came all the way from sunny Kent to be here and have loved every minute-I am a true advocate for Glasgow day and night life!  I lived in Queen Margaret Halls in my first year and since have lived in rented accommodation in the West End of Glasgow.  I love to knit and cross-stitch in my spare time, along with playing tennis and hopefully this year, lacrosse! I like to help organise social events and have got to know the city quite well from many excursions!  I hope that I will be able to help with any queries that anyone may have whether about the Law course, the University or the city of Glasgow itself!
