By air:

Approximately 7 miles from the University. Citylink operate an Airport bus service to and from Buchanan Bus Station in the city centre. Taxi fare is roughly £15-18.

Approximately 22 miles South-West of the University. Stagecoach operate an airport bus service to the city centre.

By rail:

National Rail enquiries with intercity links to all major cities and frequent services to Edinburgh (50 minutes) and London (5 hours).
There are two city-centre terminals, Queen Street and Central (served by Buchanan St and St Enoch underground stations respectively).

By coach:

For long distance coaches which terminate at Buchanan Street Bus Station. Scottish Citylink provide coach services from Glasgow to many destinations in Scotland including Glasgow airport.

By road:
From Carlisle, Newcastle and the south, exit M74 on to the M73, joining the M8 at the Old Monkland junction. M8 exits for the University are J18 if travelling from the south, Edinburgh and the north and J19 if coming from Glasgow Airport and the west. Other main routes serving the University include Great Western Road (A82, north of campus), Clydeside Expressway (A814, south) and Byres Road (B808, west). By bus:

For Strathclyde Passenger Travel (SPT). Route 44 runs through the main campus from the city centre. Numerous other routes serve Dumbarton Road, Great Western Road and Byres Road. A seasonal tourist route stops at the University.


By subway:

The main station for the University is Hillhead. Kelvinhall and Kelvinbridge stations are more convenient for some locations (see subway map of Glasgow).


By train:
Tel. 08457 484950. The nearest suburban rail station is Partick, about one mile to the west of the University. It has an interchange with the underground and with bus services on Dumbarton Road.


By taxi:
