Recruitment & Selection Policy and Legislation Update

Course instructions

This E-learning course, which is likely to take 1 - 1½ hours to complete, has two components:

  • a website with information about the University’s new Recruitment and Selection policy (introduced in July 2007) and up to date information about the legislative framework for the Recruitment and Selection process (such as freedom of information and equality legislation)
  • a multiple choice quiz – based on the website content - which is housed on Moodle, the University’s Virtual Learning Environment tool

You should read the website material and then attempt the quiz.

Note

Please note this course is for employees who attended the one-day Recruitment and Selection course prior to August 2007 in order to provide them with necessary new information about the policy and legislative framework for the recruitment and selection process.  It is not a substitute for the one-day course (which focuses on effective assessment methods).

Enrollment and Completion

The following steps are required:

You need to register with the Staff Development Service in order to receive the enrolment key which you will need to attempt the quiz.  You must submit a completed quiz with a score of at least 80% (at least 16 questions correct out of 20) to successfully complete this elearning course.  More information is in the quiz section below.

Quiz

In order to enroll in the course and receive the enrollment key (which is valid for a specific period of time) you should e-mail sds@glasgow.ac.uk with your name and staff number and request to be enrolled in the course.  You will be sent the enrollment key and information / instructions for the Moodle quiz (including instructions for updating your Moodle user profile if you have not used Moodle before).

Once you have your enrollment key, you can access the Moodle quiz, using your normal University computer log in ID and password at:

http://services.moodle.gla.ac.uk/course/view.php?id=39

Once you have completed the quiz in Moodle, you will have the option to submit it.
