Drop-in sessions are available, on a weekly basis, at the Stevenson building for a number of different sporting activities. We provide facilities, equipment and coaches... you play for free!

These activities aim at encouraging you to come along, "drop-in" and try a relaxed but organised sporting activity.

Drop-in Session Activities offered
Badminton
Basketball
Swimming Improvers
Table Tennis
Volleyball

Our drop-in sessions are an excellent way of meeting new people, making friends, trying out a new activity and participating in sport but not at highly competitive and representative levels. Please see our What's on guide for available sessions.

Throughout the academic year, we run recreational leagues for various sports. Leagues are organised, small-sided games designed for maximum fun, enjoyment and physical workout aimed at any group of players of any ability.

The below leagues require the completion of a League enrolment form:

Leagues are very popular so book early to avoid disappointment.  Full details for all leagues are in our What's On guide.

Come play in the Squash League, improve your game and meet new people!
Once we have received your completed registration form we will send you a confirmation e-mail.

Sports involvement in volunteering and charity work is one of the fastest growing non-academic areas within the Higher Education Sector. The range of opportunities available can have a significant impact on not only your extra curricular development, but also the University and the wider community.

Whilst your primary university purpose is to complete your degree, gaining new skills and building your confidence through volunteering can show future employers you’ve got drive and initiative. We provide a range of opportunities that cater for all interests and will contribute to your student life and personal development. These include:

  • Volunteering opportunities
  • Transferable employability skills
  • Experience in coaching, planning and organising events

To take part in the programmes you need to be Disclosure Scotland checked, as most of the volunteering opportunities will involve working with children – this normally takes approximately 4 weeks so the quicker we receive your completed forms the quicker you can get started.
