health & fitnessWe offer a range of activities and services all year round to keep you fit and healthy. Our exercise classes are free, cater for all levels of ability and you can come along anytime they are offered.

Also, try our 8 week courses (aimed at beginners who are new to the activity) and free drop-in sessions.

Please note you must be a Sport & Recreation member to participate in exercise classes and courses.


Free gym inductions

Learn how to use our fitness equipment correctly to gain the best results. Inductions do not provide you with a personalised training programme. If you wish this please book a personal training session.

Free platform induction

Gym inductionPerfect for those who want to get the best out of their training programme or start training like a pro. Familiarise yourself with using the platform safely & effectively.

Learn the correct technique & purpose of squats, deadlifts & presses so you have the confidence to work out effectively (only available in Stevenson building).

To receive an induction, pleae book through reception at either facility. A £10 returnable deposit is required to secure your place.

Please note all inductions require 48 hours notification to cancel without loss of the deposit.

The potential to realise your fitness goals

personal trainerWhether you want to lose weight, change your body shape or prepare for a specific sport or event, your trainer will guide you every stepof the way.

Each 1-2-1 sessions lasts 60 minute and is tailor made to ensure that you maximise your potential whilst enjoying yourself and having fun as you exercise.

Your Personal Trainer works with you throughout each session, improving your techniques, recording your progress and developing and enhancing your training programme.

They provide the key motivation and encouragement during the hard times and give you the confidence to succeedas you achieve your predetermined goals.

Personal Training is available, to all our members, at both the Stevenson building and Garscube Sports Complex at an exclusive rate of £20 per 1 hour session.
