Participate in Club Sport

Participating in club sport is easy! First you must be a student at the University of Glasgow and a member of Sport & Recreation, then you can join any club. Clubs have a small joining fee which helps them cover their costs, this is usually £20-30 per year but varries between each club.

To join a club, come along to our annual sports fair and/ or attend club taster sessions during Freshers' Week. Full details are published in our What's On guides each September. If you join in the middle of the year or later, email the club captains directly for joining information.

The Meers-Grey travelling scholarship

The Meers-Grey trust offers a travelling scholarship for the benefit of students and staff at The University of Glasgow and the University of Stirling.

The objective of the scholarship is to assist in the funding of expeditions to remote areas of the world for the primary purpose of mountaineering and/ or other such adventurous outdoor pursuits.

The trust was established after a tragic accident on Ben Nevis, in January 1992, claimed the lives of 2 young, highly promising and talented University of Glasgow students - Brian Meers and Patrick Grey.

Each year applications are invited from individuals and/ or groups looking to take part in student expedition and adventure activities.

How to apply
