Iain spent some 20 years teaching geology at the Universities of Strathclyde and Glasgow before swapping rocks for juggling bags. His interest in helping students become more effective learners stretches back to the start of his teaching career and soon afterwards he started giving workshops on study skills.
He has been involved with many projects concerned with student support in the University and is currently the Principal Adviser of Studies - Science. He is a member of the Society for Effective Affective Learning. His keys to university success can be summarised as: good time management skills, using mind maps to condense notes and, of course, juggling.
