Student Representation and Staff-Student Liaison Committees
The University of Glasgow and the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) are jointly committed to promoting an effective and coherent system of student representation. We know that the contributions of our Class and PGR Representatives are essential for us to enhance the student learning experience. You can find out more about the principles on which the University's student representative system is based and the roles and responsibilities of staff, class and PGR representatives, the SRC, and the University in the documents linked from this page.
Code of Practice on Student Representation
The following resources provide information supplementary to the Code
The Role of the Class or PGR Representative
The University and the SRC have prepared these resources to promote the class and PGR representative role and the benefits that participating can bring to the individual and to the University. As a student, you can access them here for yourself. As a member of staff, you can use them as a basis for talking to your class(es) or for re-posting on Moodle or websites.
The SRC also has online resources to support Class and PGR Representatives. Links to these are provided on the right of this page.
Details of Class or PGR Representatives
The University recognises students who have undertaken the Class or PGR Representative role and records it on the student's transcript. Details of procedures for gathering the names of those who have successfully undertaken this role are available from the Senate Office. From 2012 Schools, Graduate Schools and Research Institutes are no longer required to complete spreadsheets of Class or PGR Representatives and submit to the SRC and Senate Office. Schools, Graduate Schools and Research Institutes will now supply this information through Student Voice. For further information on Student Voice please login with your GUID to Student Voice.
