Research governance
The Research Governance Officer has overall responsibility for ensuring the University is compliant with all relevant legislation relating to research involving humans and human tissue.
In the Research Governance web pages (restricted access) you will find information and links to documents, regulations and other resources which are of relevance to staff and students at the University of Glasgow who are involved in research involving humans.
It is important staff and students understand and comply with all relevant legislation connected with Research Governance.
Research Governance applies to everyone connected to healthcare research, whether as a Chief Investigator, Care Professional, Researcher, their employer(s) or support staff. It has been developed over time to ensure:
- Research participants are protected
- Researchers/investigators conducting research are protected
- Research is performed to the highest ethical and scientific standards
