The team works closely with the Recruitment and Conversion Marketing Officers in each of the Colleges.
Internationalisation
Internationalisation is led by the Senior Vice-Principal and International Deans supported by Dr Chris Yeomans, Deputy Director: International Affrairs based in RIO. The Internationalisation strategy was approved in 2010 and it articulates our international priorities spanning six cross-cutting themes: the student experience, research and knowledge transfer, partnerships, alumni, staff and local engagement. The International Deans have been developing their regional plans in consultation with colleagues from the Colleges and Services with a particular focus on partnership development, recruitment and mobility and alumni engagement. Further advice about the internationalisation process and in particular, partnership development is available from Dr Chris Yeomans.
Admissions
The Admissions team is responsible for the development and implementation of policies, procedures and processes which ensure that applicants for all undergraduate and postgraduate teaching courses are treated in a fair and transparent way. The effectiveness of the process is key to ensuring that the policy objectives are met through admitting the right quality of students in line with planned capacity and with correct levels of cultural diversity.
Student Mobility
Increasing student mobility is a strategic priority for the University. The University is committed to enhancing our students’ understanding and appreciation of other cultures, languages and learning approaches by providing opportunities for all students to engage with the global citizen agenda and to equip them for international career opportunities. Student mobility is a 'two way' process - Glasgow students Studying Abroad, and overseas students spending time in Glasgow. Whilst the latter has obvious benefits to the students visiting our university, it also enhances the cultural richness of our courses, benefiting our total student population.
Management & Admin Support
The Management and Admin Support team is responsible for providing support for financial and human resource management throughout RIO. The team supports the Director in the operational management of the service and in meeting service and institutional strategic objectives. They also implement and monitor internal procedures ensuring adherence to University policy and procedures.
