Accommodation Admissions Policy

The University's policy on allocating places in student accommodation favours those students who are studying for a full University of Glasgow degree. Consequently, non-graduating exchange students such as Socrates/Erasmus, will be offered University accommodation only IF there are places available after the first round of allocations.

First priority in allocating accommodation to exchange students will be to those students studying here for the whole academic year. Students coming for one or two terms may be offered university accommodation depending on availability but they have lower priority. If university accommodation is not available then students will be offered assistance in seeking private sector accommodation.

Procedure for Offers of Accommodation

It is important that we receive your completed application form as soon as possible as all applications will be considered in the order of the date the form was received in Residential Services. The deadline for accommodation applications is July 31st but please do try to apply as early as possible. Those students who apply first will have the best chance of obtaining accommodation, with preference always given to students coming for the whole year. It is important that you keep in contact with the office until you receive your accommodation details.
