Part-time fee waiver

This page gives information on how Scottish part-time students could receive assistance in paying fees.

What is the form of assistance?
Tuition fee assistance for eligible students from Scotland.

Who is eligible?
You must meet all of the following criteria:
· You must be ordinarily resident in Scotland.
· You must be on an undergraduate course.
· You must be from a low income household, or in receipt of certain benefits.

Who is not eligible?
· English, Welsh and Northern Irish students.
· People who don't meet the Scottish residency criteria.
· Postgraduate students.
· International students.

How to apply:
Download an application form from the resource link on the right of this page.  Please provide all supporting documents when you submit your application form.  We will then  assess your entitlement and advise you whether or not you are eligible by sending you an e-mail to your University of Glasgow student email account.

When do I need to apply?

You must tell us you intend to apply for a part-time fee waiver when you register in MyCampus by selecting Scottish Funding Council as your sponsor.   You must then complete a fee waiver application form as soon as possible at the start of your programme of study/course and no later than the end of the semester in which you are studying.   Please send your application to us together with  the required supporting documentation  so that we can  process your application.  We regret we cannot process your application  for a part-time fee waiver if you do not submit an application form and include the required supporting documentation and unfortunately in these circumstances  you will become liable for payment of your own fees.

What happens next?
The Scottish Funding Council will pay the fees direct to the university.

How does this happen?
The fees are paid directly to the university once all procedures have been correctly followed.

Does this have to be paid back?
No, this support does not have to be paid back.
