Information about:
Student ID cards for new students
When you register at the University on MyCampus you will be asked to upload an image of yourself. The photograph you upload will be used to produce your student ID card which will be used throughout your time at the University as the primary means of formal identification, for example, at exams. We recommend that you follow the guidelines below when selecting and submitting a photo to us.
Use a photo which:
- is a close-up of your head and shoulders
- shows you with a neutral expression
- shows you on your own
- is in colour, not black and white
- is recent (i.e. taken within the last 3 months)
- is clear and in sharp focus, with a clear difference between your face and the background, ideally taken against a plain light background
- does not show you with red-eye
- is of you facing forward and looking straight at the camera
- is not torn, creased, or marked
- is taken with your eyes open and clearly visible (no sunglasses or tinted glasses)
- shows your full head, without any head covering, unless you wear one for religious beliefs or medical reasons
- is taken with nothing covering your face.
We will use this image to print your student ID card which will be ready for you collect when you start at University.
