Information for students with impaired mobility on accessibility of examination venues located in the Main Building

Venues located in the Main Building, University Avenue

  • Bute Hall (Level 4)

Venues on Level 2: Level 2 is accessible via the lifts located outside the Visitors Centre (A11 on campus map) or in foyer of Business School (A9 on campus map). Please note that the lift outside the Visitors Centre only operates during Hunterian Museum opening hours (9:30am – 4:30pm, Monday to Saturday). Level 2 is also directly accessible via ramped access from the South Front of the University. Once on Level 2 all examination venues located there are ramped

Venues on Level 4: Bute Hall on Level 4 is accessible via lift either directly from Level 1 using the lift outside the Visitors Centre (A11 on campus map) during Hunterian Museum opening hours (see above) or by first accessing Level 2 and using the lift located in the vestibule near the tower (A10 on Campus map) to access Level 4. Randolph Hall and Bute Hall are to the left as you exit the lift. The lift located in the vestibule near the tower is open from 8:30am until after the conclusion of the last examination taking place that day. If your examination starts at 9:30am or finishes after 4:00pm it is advisable to use this route to access/leave the Bute and Randolph Halls.

Once you have reached the venue if you require assistance to reach your seat, or, after the conclusion of the examination, to leave the examination venue please draw this to the attention of the invigilator or janitor on duty.
