General Council Business Committee
Co-option Form

This is the electronic nomination form for co-option to the General Council Business Committee of the University of Glasgow. It is intended for completion by General Council members wishing to be co-opted on to the Committee. The Committee is empowered to co-opt additional members where there are insufficient Members; it is actively seeking new co-optees. The commitment is 7 meetings per year, either in the evening or Saturday mornings. If the co-option is successful, a paper (signed) version of the form will be completed.

Although there is no election to co-option, nominees are required to find a Proposer and a Seconder, both of whom must be Glasgow University graduates. Co-options last until the next half-yearly General Council meeting (January and June), when co-optees can decide whether they wish to stand for election to full membership of the Committee, lasting four years. Members of University staff are not eligible to join the Committee, unless they are Glasgow University graduates.
