Books in high demand @ Short Loan

Multiple copies of books in high demand are shelved in the Short Loan Collection on Level 2. They are available for 4 hour, 24 hour or 1 week loan - colour-coded stickers on the books will tell you how long they can be borrowed for. You can only borrow 2 books at a time from the 4 hour or 24 hour loan categories and these items cannot be renewed.

Borrowing Short Loan books

The Short Loan Collection is a self-service area. All books must be borrowed using the self-issue machines located next to the exit gates inside Short Loan. The self-issue machines will provide you with a receipt - keep the receipt as it is your record of the books you have borrowed and the dates and times of return.

Returning Short Loan books

Please return any Short Loan books using the self-return machine situated inside the Short Loan Collection. A book return box is available to the right of the main entrance to the Library when the Library is closed.

Fines

Short Loan material is in heavy demand, so you must return books on time, If not, you will be charged:

• 4 hour or 24 hour loans - 50 pence per hour (or part of an hour) for each book
• 1 week loan - 5 pence per day for the first week, and then 20 pence per day for each book
