PCs, Mobile, WiFi & Printers

The Library has over 800 PCs you can use, to check your emails, write up your essays, browse the web etc. You can print from any of the PCs by buying print credits - currently there are machines on Level 2 where you can do this. The building is fully wireless enabled, so you can use your mobile device or laptop to access various library services and the internet.

Full instructions on how to connect your laptop/mobile device to the wireless network can be found on the IT Services website.

If you have any problems please go to the Student IT Helpdesk located on Level 3 in the Library, or use one of internal phones to call ext 6921.

Username: Use your GUID credentials to login. Your GUID is composed of your student number and the initial of your surname:

e.g. 1000036A (student number + surname initial)

If you cannot login, click the “Options” button and ensure that “Log on to” is set to “CAMPUS”.

Password: Your password is initially set to your date of birth in the format YYMMDD:

e.g. 13th June 1989 = 890613

You MUST change this password, as it will expire - go to Password Self Service to change your password.

After you have changed your password, click "Password Challenge Response" (at the top-left of the page). Fill out the answers as requested, then if you forget your password in future, you can click the "Forgotten Password" link on the login screen, to retrieve your password.

Your GUID is also used for access to WebSURF, VPN, Moodle, and email – if you change the password on one system, it changes on ALL systems.
