Archival documents, manuscripts, early printed works and rare books are held by Archive Services and Library Special Collections. Search for:
- Archival material in Archive Services (including administrative records of University staff, students, and associated organisations, as well the Scottish Business Archive)
- Manuscripts in Special Collections (unpublished material – manuscripts, photograph albums, correspondence etc)
- Scottish Theatre Archive (all material held in the Scottish Theatre Archive – programmes, scripts, photographs etc)
- Hill & Adamson (digitised photographs from an important collection of early photographs produced by the partnership of David Octavius Hill and Robert Adamson between 1843 and 1847)
- Rare books (books printed prior to 1850)
- Incunabula (books printed in the 15th century - in progress)
- 19th century novels
- Scottish chapbooks (chapbooks published in Scotland with searchable details of their contents - includes chapbooks held in some other libraries)
