Events for Staff

The following links provide further information on Learning and Teaching Centre events open to staff within the University of Glasgow and to postgraduate students interested/involved in learning and teaching.

Annual Learning and Teaching Conference

The annual Learning and Teaching conference provides an opportunity for staff to learn about good practice from keynote speakers and from their colleagues across the University.  The conference themes link to strategic priorities idenitified in the University's Learning and Teaching strategy.  Aspects of previous conferences have been filmed and footage is accessible in the detailed information about each conference off the link above.

Learning and Technology Seminars

These short lunchtime seminars will be run by the Learning Technology Unit and will look at how technology is being used at the University of Glasgow.  Presenters will usually be staff from the University of Glasgow describing the use of technology in their teaching.  Information for session 2010-2011 will be posted soon.

Continuing Professional Development Workshop Series

This workshop series provides academic staff with opportunities for continuing professional development. Information for session 2010-2011 will be posted soon.

LTDF Lunchtime Seminar Series

LTDF seminars held  to disseminate the outcomes from Learning and Teaching Development Fund projects.  These seminars are filmed and footage is made available in the detailed information about each LTDF seminar.  Footage is also accessible with other information on the projects on the main Learning and Teaching Development Fund page.

Mahara (e-portfolio tool) Workshops

These workshops will be practical based hands on sessions introducing the fundamentals of getting started in using Mahara (e-portfolio tool).

Moodle (VLE) Workshops

The Learning and Technology Unit runs a variety of workshops on Moodle (VLE) throughout the academic year. 

Seminar Series

The Seminar Series includes speakers from a wide range of educational research areas.  Information for session 2010-2011 will be posted soon.

Validated Institutions

Subject to availability, staff of the University's validated institutions can access courses/events provided by the University's Senate Office, Staff Development Service, Learning and Teaching Centre and IT Services.   A charge will be made for University of Glasgow credit bearing courses.
