Quality Enhancement Themes
The Quality Assurance Agency (Scotland)'s Enhancement Themes initiative aims to enhance the student learning experience in Scottish higher education by identifying specific areas (themes) for development. The themes encourage staff and students to share current good practice and collectively generate ideas and models for innovation in learning and teaching. Previous themes have included: Assessment; Responding to student needs; Employability; Flexible delivery; Integrative assessment; The first year experience; Research-teaching linkages - enhancing graduate attributes; and Graduates for the 21st Century.
The Enhancement Themes website provides and overview of the enhancement themes project and contains many useful resources related to each of the previous themes. There are some summaries of the main outcomes from the themes with a focus on what kinds of changes and adaptations to practice make a difference.
The current enhancement theme is Developing and supporting the curriculum, which will run from summer 2011 for three academic years.
