Teaching Excellence Award Winners 2008 - 09
The Selection Panel for the 2008-09 Teaching Excellence Awards is pleased to announce that awards have been made to the following members of staff.
- Dr Gordon Curry, Geographical and Earth Sciences
for developing a wide range of courses at different levels which have achieved a high degree of academic success and have been rated highly for student satisfaction.
- Dr Ronald Knox, Classics
who retired in September, for 40 years of distinguished teaching of Classics at Glasgow.
- The Level 1 Physics Teaching Team led by Dr Stephen McVitie and including Dr Harry Ward, Dr Eric Yao, Dr Morag Casey, Dr Peter Sneddon, Dr Chris Parkes, Mr Mark Kille
for their work restructuring the way Physics is taught to first year students.
- Dr Karen MacEachern, Veterinary Companion Animal Sciences
for offering her students an active learning experience and allowing them hands-on veterinary experience.
- Dr Gayle Pringle, Law, Business and Social Sciences
for her responsive and innovative approaches to supporting international student learning in Law, Business and Social Sciences.

Teaching Excellence Awards were introduced in 2005-06 to recognise and celebrate members of staff whose teaching is of a particularly high standard.
The Selection Panel was very impressed by the quality and diversity of teaching practice described in all the nominations for the Awards and wishes to congratulate and commend all the nominees.
