Description of services
IT Services manages a site TV licence for the University of Glasgow on behalf of the Principal.
This one licence covers all television equipment in the University used in communal areas eg
- Teaching spaces
- Social and recreational areas
- Office accommodation
It covers most University of Glasgow sites e.g. (Garscube, Cochno etc) on all equipment provided by the University used in the areas described.
The licence does not cover:
- Halls of residence private or communal areas.
- Separately run on-site welfare or social clubs.
- Areas of University premises that are sublet.
- Members of staff or students who use a television in their own accommodation even if it is within University grounds.
An additional licence is required for each of these sites.
N.B. Students are no longer covered by their parents home licence

Customer obligation
Colleges or Schools who receive renewal letters and are covered by the site licence should return them with the downloadable covering letter to the TV licensing authority directly using their self addressed envelope.
Colleges, Schools and individuals who are not covered by the site licence should make their own arrangements with the TV licensing authority.
