Outlook Web Access for students
Description of services
Student email now uses Exchange 2007. Exchange 2007 is a widely used system which is already used by many staff and which addresses both student and University requirements for a well specified student email service.
Features include electronic mail, shared calendars and tasks and support for mobile and web based access to information.
Availability
24x7x52 subject to occasional maintenance downtime.
Customer obligation
All mailboxes hosted by the Exchange service are subject to a limit.
The Exchange service has a finite storage capacity and in order to maintain availability and performance a limit is applied to all users mailboxes.
- Undergraduates 300Mb
- Postgraduates 500Mb
Exceeded limits
You will receive a warning email telling you that you are approaching your limit at 280Mb for Undergraduates and 480Mb for Post Graduates.
When a mailbox exceeds 300Mb for Undergraduates or 500Mb for Postgraduates you will be prohibited from sending email from your account until you have cleared out your mailbox to below the limit.
Should a mailbox exceed 310Mb for Undergraduates or 510Mb for Postgraduates, you will be prohibited from receiving email until you have cleared out your mailbox to below the limit.
