Description of service
Remote desktop service offering a set of core applications aligned with the latest version of a Standard Staff Desktop (SSD) desktop system together with a familiar login experience offering mapped home and departmental file store drives.
Please note: that as this is a remote desktop server environment users are not be able to install their own software for security, stability and licensing reasons.
Availability
24x7x52 subject to occasional maintenance downtime.
Service adoption enquiries
Staff with a CAMPUS active directory configured SSD account automatically have access to the SSD remote desktop service as long as the Remote Desktop Service protocol is supported on their Operating System (currently Windows and Macintosh). How to connect.

Charges and fees
Centrally funded - no additional charge to Colleges or University Services for the standard service.

Users of this service are expected to familiarise themselves with the information on using this service.
