- Redirecting Email using Web access (IE only)
I don’t use Windows!

What are my mailbox size limits?
The Exchange service has a finite storage capacity and in order to maintain availability and performance a limit is applied to all users mailboxes. The standard limits are:
- Undergraduates 300Mb
- Postgraduates 500Mb
What happens if I exceed my mailbox size limits?
When a mailbox exceeds 300Mb for Undergraduates or 500Mb for postgraduates (you will receive an automated email informing you you are approaching the limit at 280Mb or 480Mb) you have exceeded your mailbox limit. At this stage you will be prohibited from sending email from your account until you have cleared out your mailbox to below the limit.
Should a mailbox exceed 310Mb for undergraduates or 510Mb for postgraduates, you will be prohibited from receiving email.
Why is POP3 not supported?
We have decided not to support POP3 for a number of reasons.
The use of POP3 generates the most issues for us with student email. The configuration of multiple devices to use the protocol regularly creates the scenario where a user configures a device to pop their mail and this removes it from the inbox. They then complain that they are missing messages, which we in turn have to debug for them. It is common for devices, between upgrades, to revert to removing the messages from the server once popped.
Given the upcoming support for handheld devices ( via active sync ) in the new system, and our support for forwarding/re-directing we considered it an opportunity to remove support for the protocol.
Can I use Thunderbird to view mail while offline?
Yes, You can configure Thunderbird to download messages when in offline mode (Tools->options->Network and Disk Space->Offline->Download messages for offline use when going offline ) via the IMAP protocol. For details on IMAP/Thunderbird configuration see Configuring Thunderbird for Exchange 2007
