About CSCE
The CSCE offers a consistent core set of applications and settings but allows Colleges and Schools the flexibility to augment the standard with more specialised applications to meet their needs. The latest versions of the CSCE offer further flexibilty to students by storing personal settings on the student's filestore.
The main components of the CSCE are:
- Word for word processing
- Excel for spreadsheet use
- Internet Explorer and Firefox for browsing the web and using web-based e-mail
- Standard file management and anti-virus programs
Additional software in the central and college clusters varies - for details, check the PC or consult local IT support.
Etiquette
Based on survey feedback conducted by IT Services and independently by the SRC we ask that you:
- Please don't monopolise a PC by leaving clothes, bags etc. for more than 15-20 minutes.
- You are allowed some acceptable personal use of PCs, but please do that at quieter times (early morning, evening or weekend -see the usage pattern chart) If in doubt look around you!
