Android

As Android comes in many variations we are only able to give general instructions.

ActiveSync (recommended)

Start Mail application.

Select Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.

Enter:
Email address: your University of Glasgow email address.
Password: your GUID password.

Select Next button.

(in some versions you may now need to select the Manual setup button )

Enter:
Server address: mail.campus.gla.ac.uk
Domain: campus
Username: your GUID

The This server requires an encrypted SSL connection should already be ticked. If not it should be selected.

Select Next button.

Select what you want to synchronize with the Exchange server: Mail, Contacts, Calendar.

Choose the appropriate update schedule for your needs.

Select Next button.

Give the account a name.

Select Next button.

Select Finish setup button.

IMAP

As long as your service provider supports IMAP you should be able to access your email on the staff Exchange email system.  Please contact your service provider for advice.

Details:

IMAP server: imap.campus.gla.ac.uk - using TLS on port 143 or using SSL on port 993.
SMTP server: your service provider's SMTP server.
Username: Your GUID

Please note: changing your GUID password will change it for your mobile device settings too. You will need to enter the new password on your device.
