TRG working groups

About 

TRG operates by establishing short life working groups of experts to investigate and report on various technologies as and when required and make recommendations for the timing and manner of technology adoption.

Current working Groups

  • Directory Services - Identity Management
    Remit: To promote the University of Glasgow’s Identity Management Systems (IDM) as the definitive source of unique user names and associated passwords that could be used for user account management and user authentication/authorisation across a broad range of University IT systems and applications.
  • Networking  -  Flexible Access
    Remit: To contribute to the design and promotion of the University’s flexible network access service by reviewing the current service portfolio and making recommendations on future direction and service offerings
  • Managed Desktops
    Remit: To contribute to the design, development and promotion of the University’s managed desktop environment by reviewing the current service portfolio based on Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and making recommendations on future direction, service offerings, deployment mechanisms and support structures.
  • Email, Diary and Collaboration
    Remit: To contribute to the design, development and promotion of the University’s central e-mail, diary and collaboration service by reviewing the current service portfolio based on Microsoft’s Exchange and making recommendations on future direction and service offerings.
