Configure Blackberry for Eduroam/JRS
The settings you need are:
- Security type = PEAP
- Certificate = Comodo AddTrust External CA Root
Note: If you are using a Blackberry running OS 6 then the certificate is called "AddTrust External CA Root". - Inner link security = EAP-MS-CHAP v2
- Server Subject / Server San, leave blank
- Disable Server Certificate Validation
Step by step guide
- Enable Wi-Fi Settings>Manage connections
Then Select Set Up Wi-Fi Network - Click 'Next'
- Click 'Scan for Networks'
- Wait a few moments
- Select 'eduroam (WPA2-Enterprise)'
- Set Security Type to PEAP.
- Enter your Eduroam credentials
Username:
Staff: yourGUID@jrs.glasgow.ac.uk (eg abc9z@jrs.glasgow.ac.uk)
Students: yourGUID@student.glasgow.ac.uk (eg 1234567Z@student.glasgow.ac.uk)
Please note that this user name is NOT an email address.
Password your GUID password
- Click 'CA certificate' and select '[Comodo AddTrust External CA Root]'
Note: If you are using a Blackberry running OS 6 then the certificate is called "AddTrust External CA Root". - Click 'Inner link security' and select 'EAP-MS-CHAP v2'
- Tick ‘Disable Server Certificate Validation’
- Click 'Connect'
- Wait a few moments
- Choose a Profile name eg Eduroam
- Click 'Finish'
- You are now connected! Note your profile name appears top centre
Please note: changing your GUID password will change it for your mobile device settings too. You will need to enter the new password on your device.
