The University of Glasgow’s International Educational Consultancy is a specialist centre in the School of Education working nationally and internationally with central government, education authorities, schools and other public bodies to improve the quality of education.
Consultancy informed by Research
A key aspect of UGIEC is that it is able to provide consultancy that is informed by research. Staff in the School of Education all belong to 5 different Research Knowledge Transfer groups which reflect their interest and expertise(Creativity, Culture and Faith, Professional learning and Leadership, Pedagogy, Policy and Practice, Interdiciplinary Science Education, Technologies & Learning, Social justice, Place and Lifelong learning). These active research groups ensure the production of leading edge research and practice
The School of Education staff have experience leading policy-related research and evaluation projects and providing consultancy in pedagogy, curriculum, leadership and organisational change. The UGIEC is able to facilitate engagement of this expertise, as well as other resources from across the university and can offer support in literature reviews, collection and analysis of qualitative and /or quantitative data, writing and dissemination of reports. Project methodologies have included fieldwork in schools and other educational arenas, carrying out surveys, focus groups and interviews.
