William Hunter (1718-1783), physician and anatomist:  purchased by Hunter at the La Vallière sale through his agent, Jean-Baptiste Dessain, for 150 livres;  see 'Dessain-Hunter correspondence' (University of Glasgow Library, MS Gen. 36, f7v) but priced at 59 livres in the priced copy of De Bure’s Catalogue in University of Glasgow Library (shelfmark Sp Coll 2044-5).

Binding: France, 18th-century red morocco decorated with triple gold fillets, a small gold fleuron at each corner;  gold-tooled spine;  marbled endpapers;  gilt-edged leaves.   Size:  332 x 235 mm.
Leaf size: 323 x 225 mm.
Annotations: Single word corrections on 2/2r and 2/2v (f.4).
Decoration: None.
Imperfections: Wanting gathering 1 and the final blank leaf.
