Richard George Andrews (fl. late 19th century), bookseller, 8 Red Lion Passage, London:  sold book to John Ferguson.
John Ferguson (1837-1916), Professor of Chemistry, University of Glasgow:  purchased 24 May 1898 from “Andrews Red Lion Passage” according to Ferguson’s pencil acquisition notes on front and rear pastedowns.

Binding: 19th-century red sheep;  gilt spine title with date “circa 1471”;  sprinkled red-edged leaves.   Size:  270 x 190 mm.
Leaf size: 259 x 185 mm.
Annotations: Occasional early marginal annotations;  occasional “nota” marks, pointing hands and corrections to printed guide letters;  erased ownership(?) inscription on a2r;  various unread pencil codes on front and rear pastedowns.
Decoration: Some initials supplied sketchily in pencil.
Imperfections: Wanting the first and last blank leaves;  heavily wormed throughout resulting in many lost or damaged letters.
