Binding: 19th-century half calf, marbled-paper sides, red leather title label on spine;  sprinkled red-edged leaves;  remains of a paper tab affixed to fore-edge of a2.  Size: 198 x 146 mm.

Annotations: Number “584” in pencil on rear pastedown.
Decoration: On a2r a four-line initial “C” with a foliate design in two shades of purple is set on a square gold ground edged in black, the initial infilled with the half figure of a man in green and brown robes within an oval green frame;  on the same page a three-line initial "Q" with a marginal flourish is supplied in blue and red with reserved white;  four other initials supplied in red with marginal flourishes;  paragraph marks, underlining, and capital strokes in red throughout;  signature "aiij" given red strokes.
