Edward Knight (fl. 1857-1874), bookseller, Islington, London:  sold book to William Euing.
William Euing (1788-1874), insurance broker, Glasgow:  Euing’s inventory number “No 897” in pencil on [a2r];  purchased from Knight 22 Dec. 1860 according to Euing’s acquisitions inventory (MS Euing 49).
University of Glasgow:  presented by Euing in 1872 according to University Library bookplate on front pastedown.
Binding: 15th/16th-century bare wooden boards;  rebacked in calf in the 20th century and calf corner-pieces added;  geometrical design consisting of squares divided into triangles scored into the wood of the front board;  evidence of a single clasp (now lost);  unread annotations in ink on rear board;  red-edged leaves;  “Peroto” written in black ink from tail to head on fore-edge;  modern endpapers (originals not preserved).   Size:  296 x 203 mm.
Leaf size: 287 x 198 mm.
Annotations: Occasional marginal annotations in Latin in a 17th/18th-century hand, mainly extracting key phrases;  partially read marginal annotation in Italian on p5v “1485 adi 6 zugno [...] Questo peroto [...]” accompanied by pen-and-ink drawings of a tower and arrows.
Decoration: Three line initial “D” on [a2r] supplied in red on a square ground of red pen-work, with red pen-work decoration extending into the inner margin;  paragraph marks in red on [a2r], and in the top margin in red ink “-: IESVS :-”;  [a1] mounted with the result that pen-and-ink drawings of weapons (including a cross-bow and a dagger) on the blank page [a1r] are partially obscured.
