Annual Formal Review
The Performance and Development Review (P&DR) Framework provides an opportunity for an annual formal review and informal interim reviews.
The annual formal review focuses on reviewing the reviewee’s performance over the past year and setting performance objectives and learning & development needs for the year ahead.
However, any general underperformance against performance expectations should be raised as they occur and should not be raised for the first time during a review meeting.
The P&DR process should not be used as a substitute or forum for any disciplinary action or grievance procedures.
The annual formal review involves the preparation of the following:
- self assessment section of the Annual Review Form
- the reviewer section of the Annual Review Form

The reviewer and reviewee should allow a suitable amount of time for the review meeting – between one and one and a half hours depending on the nature of the position.
