3. Job planning administration

The formal job plan is jointly agreed between the honorary consultant, Director of Institute/Head of School and the relevant NHS Clinical Medical Director between 01 November and the beginning of March each year.  During the job planning meeting the Job Plan Template and the Annual Pay Progression Form should be completed.  Please note, the pay progression form cannot be signed off until the appraisal process has been completed and Form 4 returned to your Director of Institute/Head of School.

The fully signed job plan (excluding senior signatures) and pay progression form should be returned to the Head of Institute/School Administration for your area (Head of Research Institute-School Admininstration contacts) who will collate all forms and forward them to College HR.

Once returned College HR will obtain the signatures of the Head of College and NHS Medical Director/Associate Medical Director.  HR will issue the academic EPA contract and when this has been signed and returned, HR will advise payroll to implement pay progression.

Please note that there will be no seniority progression or EPA payments made until the job plan and pay progression form is received in HR.  If there is a substantial reason why you cannot submit the necessary paperwork by 31 March, please contact College HR at Kathy.McCormick@glasgow.ac.uk or on 0141 330 7533.

If you have been appointed recently and your first appraisal and job plan is due one year from the date of appointment, it is recognised that there will need to be some flexibility.  However, your aim should be to move onto the same timetable, albeit that your pay progression will be actioned on the anniversary of your appointment rather than the 01 April annually.
