Centre for Virus Research (CVR)

The Centre for Virus Research is a collaborative project between the University of Glasgow and the Medical research Council (MRC) and is supported by the Wellcome Trust and the Wolfson Foundation.  The new Centre will be constructed on the University's Garscube Campus and is intended to put the University of Glasgow at the forefront of international research into human and animal diseases.  The Centre will incorporate cutting edge laboratories and modern teaching facilities.

The Estates and Buildings Project Team (Mary Beaton, Martin Munro, Peter Dunne, Pamela Hughes and Jennifer Russell) will lead the development of the project in partnership with colleagues from MRC and Wellcome Wolfson.  The Project Team is working closely with Professor Massimo Palmarini, MRC Director of CVR, Professor Anna Dominiczak, Head of the College of Medicine, Veterinary and Life Sciences and Professor Neal Juster, Vice Principal (Strategy and Resources), who is also Chair of the Project Board.

The University appointed Glasgow-based Architects Sheppard Robson to design the Centre (artistic impression shown below).
