Renovation of Roof Covering and Dome (CP08/166a)

The University authorised refurbishment the vacant West Medical Building Lecture Theatre to develop a research laboratory for the Faculty of Biomedical and Life Sciences and associated renovation of the lead roof covering and dome.  Phase 1, which was started in April 2009 and completed in July 2009, entailed replacement of a defective lead/asphalt roof covering and renovation of the timber and glass structure.

The project was managed by Martin Munro, Estates Development Manager and Murdo Macaulay (Clerk of Works) in partnership with Glasgow City Council (Development and Regeneration Services - Heritage and Design) and Bluestone Building Surveyors.
