St Andrew's Building CP98/201

The building project allowed the New Faculty of Education, formed in 1999 by a strategic merger, to successfully come together under one roof. The Faculty of Education building accommodates over 1,200 students in a shared pool of 46 centrally booked teaching rooms and 200 members of staff.  Due to the nature of courses being delivered, St Andrew's Building operates 8.00am - 10.30pm, Monday - Saturday during term time.

The benefits in delivering this Project to the University are:

  • The integration of education students with wider student population.
  • Access to wider shared campus facilities.
  • Enhanced accessibility.
  • Sustainable solution which achieved a good BREEAM rating.
  • Ability to build education research facility.
  • Rationalisation of campuses provisions through disposal of a site in Bearsden.
