Small Animal Hospital CP99/380
Located at the entrance to the Garscube Estate the building will be truly integrated into the campus environment. The mass of the 4500m2 building will be under a grass roof which maintains the greenfield gateway into the Campus. A glass atrium will project up through the grass and become a welcoming beacon of light shining out to the local and wider community while bringing light into the heart of the plan.
The Project is the result of the design team's response to the aspirations of the Vet School, the draft Campus Plan (2005-2015). The design has been developed from the feasibility study in 2003, through consulation with both the Vet School and University Estates and Buildings Ofice, to the present proposals which began in autumn 2007. The resulting design will fulfill the University's aspiration to have a "state of the art" Small Animal Hospital which will be a centre of excellence in care, disease management and human interations of small companion animals.
