CR-UK Cancer Research Facility (Phase 1) CP01/525

A collaborative project commissioned by the University of Glasgow working in conjunction with CR-UK to create a new Cancer Research facility for 240 researchers within in the Botany Walled Garden at the University of Glasgow's Garscube Estate.

A building with potential for significantly lower running costs and carbon emissions than the norm for the sector with a triple glazed, argon filled, low emissivity glass facade.  Maximised natural ventiliation to all non-laboratory spaces.  High targets for U-values and airtightness.  Specification of energy efficient mechanical and electrical services/heating and ventilation controls/VSD/lighting control.  The accommodation comprises state of the art research laboratory areas with support and write up spaces, a lecture theatre and cafe.

The building is physically linked to the existing complex of buildings, which will subsequently be refurbished for University cancer research teams as part of a Phase 2 development.
