Bower Building Reinstatement CP01/516
Reinstatement works were completed in just over three years after it was destroyed by fire in October 2001. The Project has comprised a number of enabling projects including the stripping out of the existing fabric and the stabilisation of the external facades. The reinstatment works began in April 2003. The interior of the building now provides a high quality research and teaching facility for the Institute of Biomedical and Life Sciences, with an additional floor level and a central atrium space which provides a main focal point for the building.
The exterior of the building has been sensitively reinstated to broadly match the original Grade B listed building whilst accommodating the external sources discreetly.
