The Telephone network provides a highly reliable service and over 7000 extensions across the University's six sites. Most extensions have Direct Dialling-In (DDI) enabling external callers to dial directly to the person they require.
Switchboard Hours 8.30am - 5.30pm Monday - Friday
Outwith these hours an automatic answering service allows external callers to dial users directly or, if they need further help, to be routed to Security.

Operator service for internal and external callers
Telephone directory service
- Voicemail service, accessible both internally and externally
- Call logging service providing reports on usage and performance
- Advice on system features including transfer, diversion, follow-me, call pick-up and conference calling.
