Information for staff

Disability Service welcomes enquiries from staff on disability issues. We are committed to providing support to any member of staff who works with disabled students in their department and we will always prioritise such enquiries.

We are very keen to work in partnership with staff to give advice or to help with resolving any complex issues arising from supporting disabled students on their courses.

If your enquiry is about a specific student who you know is registered with our service, then the name of the student's Disability Adviser is given at the top of the student's Web Surf Disability entry and the adviser can be contacted directly.

If your query is of a more general nature, please call our service on 0141 330 5497 or email disability@gla.ac.uk and your enquiry will be directed to the most appropriate member of staff within the service.

Two new publications have recently been added to the Reports section of the Equality Challenge Unit’s website:

Staff Disclosure

This report and survey findings are outputs from an Equality Challenge Unit project undertaken in 2007 to examine issues impacting on the disability disclosure decisions of staff in higher education. Recommendations from this project were taken forward in 2008 with a pilot group of higher education institutions. The aim was to adopt strategies at their institutions that will support increased levels of staff disclosure in one or more equality areas. For more information about this project please contact Stuart Moore: stuart.moore@ecu.ac.uk
